COUNSELING · OʻAHU
Fees & insurance.
Practical questions deserve clear answers, too.
Find your next stepBEFORE ARRANGING CARE
Talk about cost
before you begin.
Ask about the cost of care, your insurance plan and the payment arrangements for the setting you’re considering.
Talk through current session fees, accepted plans and payment arrangements with the team before deciding on your next step.
INSURANCE
Check your
specific plan.
- Does the clinician participate with my exact plan?
- Are the care setting and appointment type covered?
- Do I need a referral or prior authorization?
- What deductible, copay or coinsurance applies?
- Are there any session limits?
Check with both the practice and your insurer. A directory listing or benefits summary does not guarantee payment for a particular appointment.
SELF-PAY & SCHOOL ARRANGEMENTS
Ask about
your options.
Discuss whether self-pay is available and request the current session fee, payment timing and cancellation policy.
For school-based services, ask who is responsible for payment and whether any school-supported arrangement applies. No school-funded care is assumed.
You can also request written cost information and ask the practice about any estimate or notice relevant to your care.

can be enough.
